This can be redefined:

lirc_sir.c:unsigned int freq = 56000;      /* modulation frequency */

Unfortunately, changing that had no affect on my ability to actually
change channels.

Yeah, I would also like to use the ActiSys, since I ordered it
specifically for this purpose. I would rather not have to spend more
money.
