Isaac, when myth schedules a recording from the EPG, does it store a
reference to the program sql record which contains start/end times or
does it copy the start/end times to a recording schedule?

If it's the latter, then a little patch to subtract X mins from the start 
time that
is stored along with an extra option to enable and set the preroll would do 
the job?

I'll be able to hack the first part, but I'm a little green (qt and 
coding-wise)
  for the config gui stuff, can you recommend a file to base the modifications
  on?
