I just built a system with the MSI K7NG2-ILSR board (all parts purchased
from Newegg.com, in stock, no waiting) nForce2 chip w/ the on-board
video the Tv-out is right there on a header that comes included... dolby
5.1 sound with spdif and coax digital outs on another header, firewire,
LAN, and usb2 are also on board. Altogether there are 3 headers that
each take up a pci slot although most cases have an extra one and if you
were tight on space you could do without the firewire header and just
get a case that had front mounted firewire and connect the header that
way... its running WinXP and its not my system, i just built it for a
friend so i cant test that out for you but it is running like a champ..
I had zero issues setting it up with an Athlon XP 2500 Barton chip with
the 333FSB and i used Kingston PC2700 DDR running at 333 as well. I was
shocked at how cool the Barton is running at.. barely hits 42C with a
stock AMD HSF on it (those usually suck) although a dab of arctic silver
helps there... I must say i highly reccomend this setup, but once again
i have not tested it on linux but have no reason to believe it wouldnt
run good considering nVidias excellent linux support and Gentoo's Athlon
XP optimizations ;-)

be aware that for full support of the Barton Athlon XP's you should
flash to the latest BIOS (1.4 i think). The board i had shipped with 1.2
BIOS which booted and ran well enough with the Barton in it for me to
boot to floppy and flash the BIOS, so no temporary CPU swapping was
required.
