Hey there mOjO,

I got the ebuild done and posted it to the Gentoo Bugs
list.  You can pick it up here:

To install it copy the mplayer ebuild from
/usr/portage/media-video to your PORTDIR_OVERLAY. 
Then download the MPlayer patch and my patch from the
above link.  Place the MPlayer patch in the files dir
and patch the mplayer ebuild with my patch.

You should then be able to emerge the patched mplayer.
 Make sure to add the USE flag 'mythtv' to your
make.conf or run the command:

USE=mythtv emerge ./mplayer-0.90-r1.ebuild
