[mythtv-users] Myth and PC without hard disk

Is it feasible and reasonable to build a MythTV PC without hard disk,
but with a 100Mbit switched ethernet connection to a fileserver ?

Such PC would contain a flash RAM card (emulated harddisk), 128MB or
larger, to boot into Linux as fast as possible, but it would mount
storage from network, probably via SMB.

Why omit hard disk?

- save money (admittedly not much)
- quiet operation (although current hard disks are very quiet)
- save power (hard disk consumes some electricity)
- less fragile (PC can be dropped)
- less heat generated, (computer fan may rotate more slowly)

Why Flash?

- boot faster than with Boot ROM or PXE (true or false?)

I look for and solicit your comments and advice.
