[mythtv-users] How does backend/frontend work with Directv?

I only have one machine, but the serial connection works great. The only
problem is that the directv channel display shows up at the beginning of
recordings, but only for a second. I did have to modify the RCA.pl
script to send the correct command for my box (it's a bit old). Then I
just put the script as the external command. It comes in through the
composite on my AverTV Studio, and sound goes into the little input they
have on the tuner card.
