Thanks for the quick response. So i'll go with 480x480 or 720x480.
I hope the G400 and the PVR-250 can coexist happily.
One of the things that i like about this shuttle case is the twinhead
option,
i'm hoping that this will allow my wife to watch recordings on the TV while
me
still using the PC at the same time.

You don't need to capture at 640x480.  I capture at 480x480 and can't
tell the difference between it and 640x480 captures.  YMMV, but
analog TV is pretty crappy.  Also, if you're going to capture at
something other than 720x480 on the PVR-250 you're going to need to
use the test_ioctl program to turn off DNR.  The HOWTO has a section
on this.
