I think this is the more elegant and eventually useful
solution, but it is obviously troublesome to complete.
I am under the impression that even compiling code
for the xbox is not a trivial task, not to mention
that the xbmp source probably doesn't use qt, which
means you wouldn't be able to adapt much code. I
think the best way to explore this option is to first
get in touch with an xbmp coder who is willing to take
a look at mythtv and see if this is realistically
possible at this point ... then go from there.

I think optimizing linux on the xbox for mythtv is
definitely worth it, but I am not sure I see the
benefit in trying to create a distro per se. Once you
go that route you fall into the same trap as the
previous proposal where you have a lot of maintenance
to do just to keep it current. I think the best first
step is to try and get a list of steps for people to
go through upon setting up debian on an xbox which
will optimize their setup for mythtv. Getting
together and having a collection of good working
scripts, settings, and instructions should be first.
Then from there you can think about packaging it on a
cd or making a full distro out of it.
I have an xbox frontend ... so I don't mind helping
out as well.
