I have a SN45G (nForce2) system and just tested on my Gentoo system. It seems
there are no 2.8.0 packages of lm_sensors available (not stable, not
experiemental) on Gentoo, so I tested with 2.7.0.
The fan on my system instantly went full tilt (at least that is what it
sounded like - normally I do not hear the fan except on boot), and when the
CPU temperature reading went below the freezing point, I figured it
definitively did not work.
I poked around the lm_sensors website and learned that with newer versions of
the lm_sensors package there is a i2c-nforce2 module, which is probably what
I need, so I have decided to wait until I can install it easily on my Gentoo
based system.
