[mythtv-users] MythGame -- xmame problem?

Hello all,
Now I'm attempting to setup some stuff for XMame. So first off, I followed
the instructions in Jarod Wilson's install docs section, and installed the three
game packages. I then took on the painstaking task of copying over all the
roms, cabinet files, etc.. to the appropriate XMame directory.
Then while in the Myth Frontend, I went to game settings, and double checked
everything in the mame section to make sure the paths matched. I then fired
up the game icon in the frontend, and for whatever reason MAME isn't showing
up. The only thing I was getting in the tree was PC Games.
I then double-checked everything once again in the game setup, and only
thing I can find is that by default, the Mame setup looks for the program
binary in /usr/bin/xmame.X11 ---- when I searched my system, I didn't find
an xmame.X11 file anywhere in /usr/bin. It looks to me like the bianry is
simply named 'xmame' without the .X11 extension. So I modified the settings
in Myth to reflect this, then rebooted.
Well upon me trying to load up MythGame, my frontend craps out now. So I
then fired up a console session, and loaded up the frontend once again...
then got some output. This is what I'm getting each time:
ASSERT: "i <= nodes" in /usr/lib/qt-3.1/include/qvaluelist.h (372)
Segmentation fault
Now bear in mind, I have EVERY single one of the roms available for MAME in
my roms directory. So maybe the sheer amount of roms is just killing the
frontend when scanning the roms directory? But it still doesn't make sense that the XMAME option wasn't showing up at all in my MythGame?
If I drop back to a command line, and type /usr/bin/xmame --- XMame DOES run, and by default brings up the Pacman rom (still have no idea why it keeps bringing up Pacman). So my XMame IS working, it's just that MythGame doesn't seem to like something along the way.
One more question ... with my MAME32 for windows, you can run the
roms in zip format, and the program just unzips them on the fly as it uses
them. I'm not sure if XMame does this as well. Does anyone know this answer for sure?
Many thanks.
