No particular brand, just whatever is cheapest locally, or occasionally on
the Web, when I happen to need one. Usually it's a case-P/S combo, and I
don't even notice the P/S brand -- the last 2 I bought cost $US5 and $US30,
but they haven't seen much use yet so I cannot vouch for them specifically.

The original poster was claiming that cheap power supplies don't last 5
years ... the ones I have that have lasted that long are necessarily 5
years old, so either AT or ATX, not suited for today's motherboards. And
many are low power (65W or so) suited for light uses like routers but not
heavy uses like video capture and encoding.

Typically, what causes me to abandon a P/S is no longer having any
motherboards that can use it (that's why I only have one really old P/S
running today ... it's on my AT-mobo router).
