[mythtv-users] pvr350, dxr3, g400-tv & nvidia TV-out quality ?

I just want to be completely sure of the draw here...
A dxr3 and pvr-250 (if dxr3 was supported) would mean hardware encoding
and decoding, correct? And the draw of that would be? That you could get
away with only needing a 200Mhz CPU? (I have a dxr3, and am considering
getting a pvr-250, and have yet to buy dedicated hardware to run Myth)
Just curious...
Thanks,
Scott

That was written before ivtv (MPEG2) became useful.
Now that it's here, I suppose a dxr3 could
theoretically be used if an ivtv card were the source.
I just got a dxr3 card, so maybe I'll look at it
sometime after I finish my mythgallery todo list.
As far as quality goes, I think there are so many
factors to consider with tv-out that you just have
to try several solutions for yourself. I just
gave away my GF2 TV-out equipped myth box to
in-laws and noticed that what looked great on
my 5 year old midrange 32" Sony looked terrible on
their same vintage 25" Panasonic.
And speaking of my former myth box, over the long
weekend I just built another machine, so I should
be knocking out the rest of the mythgallery todo
list shortly. The timing of the 0.10 release caught
me by surprise; I hope I can get my todo list
knocked out before 0.11 if we're on a 3 week release
schedule now.

running off a 486 :-) )
