[mythtv-users] Onboard Sound with VIA8235

After getting mythtv installed I would always get a black screen when 
selecting 'watch tv' with a message in the term "player: cannot open audio" 
or something or other.  I tried using ALSA and a million other things, and 
14 formats and reinstalls later I had gotten no where.  I then figured that 
maybe it wasnt me and it was the integrated sound on the southbridge.  I 
tried my santa cruz and reinstalled the setup and poof, it worked.  I did a 
search on the mailing list and noticed that some people with the same 
southbridge had the same problems as me.  Could it be that there is an 
incompatiblity with this southbridge?

If you have this southbridge and are using integrated sound with mythtv, I 
would be very interested to hear about it so i can give my santa cruz back 
to my main pc.
