[mythtv-users] No Sound

Sorry if this has been answered, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. 
I'm installing mythtv from todays cvs (02/15/03).  I've got mythmusic,
mythweather, mythweb, and mythgallery to work just fine.  Mythtv *seems*
like it's working, but I can't seem to watch TV.  I start mythbackend with
no problems, then the frontend:

# mythfrontend
connecting to backend server: localhost:6543
adding: myth as a player 1
Found 2 Xinerama Screens.
Using first Xinerama screen, 800x600+0+0


BUT, when I try to watch TV, it dumps me out of mythfrontend and I get this:
Connection timed out.

I'm running both backend and frontend from the same box.  BTW, what is the
Xinerama screen all about?
