$ man cvs

is a good place to start.  But if you're looking to keep your local
copy of CVS in sync with the server, and you haven't been making
changes to code, then just re-run the command you used to originally
get your checkout from CVS.

So, if you've got a $HOME/mythtv-0.8/MC directory, go to
$HOME/mythtv-0.8 and run the cvs -z3 co MC command again and it
should work.
