[mythtv-users] Sound problems, suggestions please.

<I don't know your gentoo knowledge, so I'll approach it dummystyle)

Type "emerge -qpv mythtv" check if alsa is blue or red . If it's red, it's will be, or is compiled with alsa ... if it's blue chances are it isn't.

First, check that alsa is installed: "emerge -p alsa-driver alsa-lib alsa-utils" if you see a yellow R  it's installed. If you see a green N it isn't installed yet. (then you'll just have to issue the same command, but don't put in the -p command).

after that you'll have to do: 

emerge unmerge mythtv; USE="alsa" emerge mythtv

p.s. can you give me some more details. What type of movie where you watching (divx, mpeg2).. was it just the sound clicking, or also small image freezes so now and then ?
