[mythtv-users] TV tuner card & video card recommendations for a nOOb

Hauppauge products are what I hear most about on the tuner end and my understanding is that ATI Radeon support is limited and buggy. True, false? any other possibilities for cards that work the best with MythTV?

As an aside, how do I use this mythtv-users mailing list to best effect? Right now I'm getting the email marked mythusers_Digest._Vol_XX._Issue_XX with multiple discussions going on. Is there a way to thread this info by topic or something?
