I'm getting the same result. Formatted over my old, broken RH9 install
and followed the new fedora guide from Jarod. Here's the details :

[root at pc mythtv]# apt-get install alsa-driver alsa-utils alsa-tools
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  alsa-kernel-2.4.22-1.2129.nptl.caps.rhfc1.ccrma fltk
  kernel#2.4.22-1.2129.nptl.caps.rhfc1.ccrma
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  alsa-driver alsa-kernel-2.4.22-1.2129.nptl.caps.rhfc1.ccrma alsa-tools
  alsa-utils fltk kernel#2.4.22-1.2129.nptl.caps.rhfc1.ccrma
0 upgraded, 6 newly installed, 0 removed and 3 not upgraded.
Need to get 14.8MB of archives.
After unpacking 34.7MB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]

The kernel stuff it's wanting to install are not Axel's.
