[mythtv-users] Settings for default software encoder

I got a little trigger happy when doing the initial configuration of
an installation of mythtv and I reset the configurations for the
default software encoder.  Not knowing what I was doing I botched them
up pretty badly and now any stored video ends up being very poor
quality.

Could someone please tell me what a good set of defaults would be?
The machine is an Athlon XP 2500+ with 1 GB 333 MHz RAM and a WinFast
2000 XP Deluxe video capture card.  I would prefer to use MPEG4
encoding for smaller file sizes but could live with the larger file
sizes from the other encoding whose name I have forgotten (RTjpeg?).
