[mythtv-users] Need for a real forum?

Hello,
I've been a myth user for about 4 months now, and I'm very satisfied
and impressed with MythTV. Lately I've been trying to delve deeper by
using MythMusic and MythGame, etc. I know that a mailing list was the
decided form of communication, but would anyone else out there prefer a
real online forum?

I'm perfectly willing (and mostly able) to host such a site, and I
think it would be a much more productive affair considering how popular
MythTV is getting these days. I often use
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/archive/MythTV_C2/Users_F11/ instead
of the mailing list, as it is much easier to read and search. But I
also find it frustrating when I'd like to respond to a post and can't.
So instead I usually just email the person asking, but that doesn't
really benefit people in the future with this problem.

So, I hope I've made sense, and I wanted to know how you all felt about
the creation of a forum? I certainly don't want to change the Dev
mailing list, as I'm sure that suits them best. Whether this forum
should run parallel to the Users mailing list or instead of it, I'm not
sure.

I'm all veclempt, talk amongst yourselves.

Graham

PS I would volunteer to host such a site, I've been looking for
something to do with my free 1and1.com account that I just got. I will
be starting a new job soon, but if someone wanted to be an additional
moderator, I don't think there'd be any problems.
