I'm not using DVI, but for my PAL TV I'm using the plain onboard VGA with
no TV output, a home built sync converter (converts the H/V sync into a
composite sync that the TV can use) and some custom modelines to drive the
VGA output at PAL resolution. The picture quality I get out of that is
excellent since it's RGB with no other signal processing hardware between
the PC and the TV. I just need to sort out syncing the Myth output with
the VBI so that I can run the system without deinterlacing and with no
tearing. ATM the only problem with this method of outputting to the TV is
that Myth will only vbi-sync with Nvidia cards, but the Nvidia drivers are
broken and won't do interlacing so you can't use an Nvidia card.
