You want to mute the Line you have set to capture (make sure you are
plugged into that line) and set your other volume's IE master to 75%. Of
course you will not be able to mute and keep the volume at 75% on the same
line.
Then click on file>save volume settings.

I have tried all the gui apps and the command line aumix, but I cant
seem to mute line in AND set the volume at 75%.
As soon as I close the sound app, then re-open it, It is set back to 0
on Volume.
FYI
I am not using alsa right now.
Any ideas?
