Thanks Dan, I will try this later today.

Will this also work for my /myth/tv directory which is where I keep my
regular tv recordings ?

Create a symlink (ln -s target linkname) inside the MythVideo directory.
MythVideo will recognize there is a directory in its homedir and display it
for browsing in the Browse Videos.
