[mythtv-users] mythgame fullscreen issues (partially solved)

So, I finally got around to trying out mythgame, and I ran into a
problem getting fullscreen for mame and snes9x.

The issue with xmame seems to be that I need to pass -x11-mode 3 to get
full screen going. I beleive this causes xmame to use xv scaling to
make the image fit the screen. Perhaps I'll make a patch that makes the
-x11-mode an option, but for now I just modified the code to always use
3. (Maybe it is an option and I missed it.)

The issue with snes9x is slightly more annoying. It seems that what
snes9x does is change the screen resolution to something smaller (in
most cases I've seen it tried 320x240.) That is, it doesn't try to
scale the image at all. This works fine on displays that support
320x240 and you would think that almost any display device would.
Except that the nvidia drivers report in the /var/log/XFree86.0.log:

(WW) NVIDIA(0): Not using mode "320x240" (not a valid TV mode)

I interpret this to mean I'll never get snes9x into full screen on my
dedicated MythTV box, as it has only the TV for display.

I'm going to try to get zsnes to work, maybe it will do full screen by
scaling the image...

PS: Thanks mythgame hackers!
