D'oh!

Once again I prove to everybody that I am dumb, heh.

In my evox.ini file I had it launched F:\Linux\default.xbe instead of my new
E:\default.xbe.

My bad.

Thanks a ton for your help!

Works GREAT now! Runs quite quickly and smooth.

Only thing thats missing is a nice bootsplash screen =)

Hi John,

I will look into this when I get home tonight. I have seen this exact error,
but the cause escapes me right now. I think it has to do with the file
system not being mounted correctly when the pivot_root occurs.

Are you sure you are using the initrd that came with my distro and not the
one from Debian 0.4.1? They are quite different and are not interchangeable.

Dennis

I'm trying to setup Dennis Cartier's mythtv frontend for the x-box (v0.3)
and I'm having some problems.

On my x-box, I have the follow files on my E:

default.xbe
initrd
linuxboot.cfg
myth.tgz
myth_progfs
myth_rootfs
swap
vmlinuz

When I go to launch E:\default.xbe from my dashboard (EvoX), Linux starts
booting up and I see a few messages, but then after only a couple of seconds
I see:

Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

Then, it freezes.

Do I have something setup wrong? I've read through the readme and
configured (and re-zipped) the myth.tgz so I'm not sure why this isn't
working. I've had Ed's Debian 0.4.1 installed before so I somewhat know
what I'm doing but I'm not sure why this isn't working for me.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

- John
