I strongly agree. Feedback about Usability isn't a comment about things
being bad. It is a suggestion on how to make a good thing better.
MythTV is a already really great project, and all the activity I see
happening in here at the moment strongly suggests to me that there will
be "off the shelf" and other prebuilt and kits with MythTV on them in
the near future. What this means is that more and more less intelligent
users will be using MythTV. MythTV, by its very nature, will also get
used by more than just the geek-of-the-house...
I'd suggest that a worthwhile project for any MythTV user or developer
who has a few spare hours is to try using (almost) every feature (in
your setup) of MythTV (and even its modules) and think of what could be
done to improve the functionality, usability, and user-friendliness of
those features. Ranking how important and how well any existing feature
you use would be useful, as would rankings of any changes you would like
to see...
After a number of people have submitted usability reviews, it will be
easy to see what people really want to see happen with MythTV and what
needs fixing first to make it kick serious ass from a user experience POV.
