[mythtv-users] Problems since 0.11 upgrade - UPDATE

I have had similar problems, with CVS from about two
weeks ago. In my case,
it's not clear that it's related to how quickly I
press fast forward; it appears
to happen on certain recorded programs and not on
others, and the programs on
which it occurs have .nuv files that seem short for
the program duration.

I have an Athlon 1.0 and had always been recording at
480x480 and everything
else at defaults. I noticed that my cpu was only
typically at 35% when
recording. I pushed my resolution up to 544x480 and
could just barely watch a
recording in progress (occasionally hit 100%), so I
backed off to 504x480 - a
"comfortable" 75% when watching a recording in
progress. It was after this
change that I began seeing the occasional recording in
which fast forward caused
the frontend to appear to hang, with rebuffering
messages at the console.

I backed off to 480x480 again and things have been OK,
though it's only been a
couple of days. I'm blaming this on my CPU's
inability to take the occasional
load due to other things, like my constant checking of
mythweb, despite the
backend process priority. I don't know whether it's
plausible that CPU overload
would cause corrupt files rather than "gracefully"
skipped frames.
