Hi

I am new to using MythTV. I am trying to use it with DVB.

I have checked out MythTV from CVS and applied Ramon's dvbchannels patch and
extracted tar. I am using this with a Nova-T DVB card.

I have managed to follow his instructions to get the DVB channels listed.
Starting mythbackend looks like this:

Starting up as the master server.
DVBChannel: Changing to channel 3 on card 0
Using DVB card "Philips TDA10045H"
tuning DVB-T (in United Kingdom) to 690166667 Hz
polling....
Getting frontend event
FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_LOCK FE_HAS_CARRIER FE_HAS_VITERBI FE_HAS_SYNC
Bit error rate: 4
Signal strength: 53456
SNR: 65278
FE_STATUS: FE_HAS_SIGNAL FE_HAS_LOCK FE_HAS_CARRIER FE_HAS_VITERBI FE_HAS_SYNC
SetPID: 620 621

Which looks good to me (those PID's correspond to BBC THREE)

However, when I run mythtv for the front end, I do not get any picture, just a
blank screen.

The log on the console is:

connecting to backend server: 127.0.0.1:6543
Input #0, mpeg, from 'rbuf://127.0.0.1:6543/mnt/store//ringbuf1.nuv':

  Stream #0.1: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 256 kb/s

The addition logs on the mythtvbackend process are:

2003-08-17 12:40:48 adding: buffy as a player 1
2003-08-17 12:40:48 adding: buffy as a player 0

2003-08-17 12:40:48 Could not open audio device: open: Bad address
Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV

I compiled mythtv to use ALSA, which is working fine outside of MythTV. I have
the OSS mixer emulation module loaded, but not the OSS /dev/dsp emulation
module loaded. I am running devfs.

It looks like this is a configuration problem, can anybody give me some
pointers on where to debug/fix this problem?

Thanks

John
