[mythtv-users] Others experience with LIRC and Atisys200L

I have tried the latest CVS version and it does the same thing that the 0.6.6
version does. I think I may try on the LIRC list next, this is really not so
much a myth problem, but I figured that there would be better luck getting an
answer here because the Actisys is in the Myth docs [sorry Isaac].

Things I have tried:
different serial ports [physical]
modprobe -r serial.o and setserial command [same effect - fixes 'resourse
busy']
lirc 0.6.6 and 0.7pre1 [cvs]
all available BIOS com port related [diff IRQ, base, pnp aware OS]
4 different remotes - all different brands
many many conf file tweaks, as suggested in lirc docs, frequency, gap, eps,
aps, etc.

When I have the settings correct and lirc is running, every remote does the
same thing ...

mode2 sees activity.
irrecord will record a file, but if I try to use this file as lircd.conf, irw
maybe one button, if I hold it down for a long time, but usually nothing.
when I put the correct remotes' .conf file fron the lirc remotes tar file, irw
will see the buttons pressed, but -only- if I send the signal repeatedly.
whats more stranger than this is the repeat values. When I first run irw and it
sees a remote in the conf file, the repeats go up to about 15, then
0,1,2,0,1,2, ect. It is almost as if a I am filling up a buffer. This happens
with all remotes I have tried.
Transmitting does not work -at all-. I can see that it is doing -something-
because the I can see a red led light inside the dongle light up as I tell it
so send [which is kind of wired too]. I cannot get my cable box to see any
transmissions though.

I was thinking of trying the dongle in windows next and if that works trying a
different linux kernel [suggestions - newer, older]. I definitely have ruled
out lirc version, lircd.conf, and my remote as the problems. It seems other
people have gotten the unbalanced irq(4) error when lirc_sir module loads, so I
am sort of ruling that out too.

So - anyone actually got the actisys to transmit, record, and recieve ?
I am seeing red lights on infared transmitter - Am I going insane ?

Thanks for the help. I am hoping someone else has seen this.
