It's just displaying the string to be translated. Perhaps you've
noticed that we have an en_us translation, even though the source is
en_us :) The plural translations are done in this translation, so US
users also get better plural strings :)

AFAICT, you have just been working on some files which were "almost"
up to date, not completely up to date ;) The solution is simple;
ALWAYS run lupdate after you've checked out a fresh SVN or done a svn
update. You can use the translation statistics to see if you're
missing something, it's updated regularly
(http://www.insidethex.co.uk/mythtv/translation-status/trunk/ - click
on the percentage next to your language to get further details). I
noticed the missing translations in your patch, because I went through
the plugins manually.

If you didn't run lupdate prior to running linguist, you didn't get
the new strings added.

...no change should be missing _if_ you ran lupdate before translating
with linguist. Of course, if you work on a translation for weeks, you
might need to run svn update and lupdate several times, in case more
strings are added in the source code in trunk.

Using the online translation statistics is much easier. Nick Morrott
is quite good at keeping it up to date. If you want to do it locally,
make sure your SVN checkout is up to date, run lupdate against
mythfrontend and against all plugins. Now open up each of the *_de.ts
files in linguist to check the current status.
