[mythtv-theming] menu xml's

Two questions about menu xml's.

1. Do the xml's need to be in the root of the theme directory or can they be
in a subfolder of the theme? (aka menus)
2. Assuming they can be in a subfolder, do I reference the xml with
<action>MENU menus/recordings.xml</action>? or is it relative so I would
reference it just <action>MENU recordings.xml</action>?

Thanks for the help. I couldn't find this in the wiki.
