I just wanted to reply, and say "thank you" for not following this approach.
There is other software that I work with which only targets the latest and
greatest versions of things, and it makes it really had to install new
versions. I don't want to have to run their containerised release, or be on
a testing release of Debian to get the correct versions.

So, again, thank you to the developers for caring about your user base.

And funnily enough, it has been years (2012!) since I've had to update
mythtv-status for a new release of MythTV, the APIs have been nice and
stable. (Or maybe I'm just missing that there could be other things I should
be displaying or exposing for alerting...)
