Nope, the only changes I made were the ones I listed.

What does "cat /proc/asound/cards" show after the change? Did you reboot
after changes?
What does "cat /proc/asound/cards" show if you reverse the change?

Maybe try:
options snd_hda_intel enable=0 index=0
options snd_hda_intel enable=1 index=1
