Likewise. Over the year and a half HLS has been available I’ve used both the internal and external encoders. Or, at least I gave the --enable switches to make it happen. I don’t know what was going on internally.

If you like I can roll back to the revision Bill mentions and put a breakpoint on some problematic line to verify that it takes that path. On the other hand, last summer (I’m in North America) Chris Pinkham did several fixes for ac3 audio which I assume was to that same code you’re looking at so I don’t know what to say.
