[mythtv] ticket11061 & high BE RSS ?

Hi,
 I'm wonder about dev comments on ticket11061 as in my case (v0.26-beta-90-g44ebd80-dirty-20120920) it has considerable impact on backend RSS.
 See attached graph with week statistics (be was upgraded on Thursday evening; drop 1.3G->150M).
 On graph You see jump on Monday 12AM as at this point stress tests were started (14 concurrent recordings).
 Generally: for 14 concurrent recordings & without 11061, be RSS pumps to 1,1-1,4G and stays, while with 11061 it is average 300-500M.
 As 11061 has also positive impact of user experience (glitches in recording instead drop of recording) - I think 11061 is wort to look closer...
