An input group will prevent your cards from recording from
different multiplexes when connected to the same antenna.
This means if you have three ATSC cards attached to that
antenna and one of them is recording 5-1 then the other
cards will only record 5-1, 5-2, 5-3 etc.

What input groups won't allow you to record 7-1, 7-2
which are tunable with the antenna pointed in the same

But really this is good enough as is. An input group will
prevent the scheduler from trying to record things that it
can not. That a more complicated setup might be able to
record a few more things isn't worth worrying about.
