For reference (and the record), it's myth triggering a crash in X
(which is where the bug is).  Any attempt to invoke XvMC from any
application will cause the same behavior.  The easiest way to work
around it is by selecting a playback profile which does not use XvMC.
David is likely using "CPU+," and ought to be using "Slim."
