I think it's more related to an architecture issue... This is probably
irrelevant these days as most of the original architectural model has
been broken. Stuff like some code used by the plugins moved on the
backend side etc...

Personally, I do not care one way or another. If it was up to me I
wouldn't bother breaking up the code into so many libraries. It
doesn't make anything faster, it's harder to support. I'm all for a
big libmythtv myself.
