There is nothing formal and all encompassing. The closest you'll get is the stuff generated by doxygen from comments in the source code. Daniel K offers fairly recent output at http://www.cuymedia.net/mythtv-trunk/index.html

Like most software projects the code is your best reference. Assuming you're a halfway decent programmer Daniel's site plus the source & a little time is enough.
