MK, MythTV doesn't use a ring buffer anymore, but you could look at the
code from a few releases back. Maybe 0.18, but I'm not sure. What we
do now is just make individual recordings with keyframe indexes created
by the recorders. Then we maintain a LiveTVChain which tells the player
which recording proceed and follow the currently playing recording.
I don't know if trick modes continue from one recording to the next or
if we resume normal play at the next recording, but not having MythTV
handy at the moment I assume we resume normal play.
