talking of defaults and with no attached patch - here goes

it would be nice if dialogs had, in addition to "finish" and "cancel", a 
"defaults" button
i've changed so many settings over the years that i don't really know 
what the original settings where; short of trawling through the code and 
the database

maybe highlighting the default (as this patch does) might be the way to go
