[mythtv] MythUIProgressBar width/height problem?

Trying to add PlaybackBox's usedbar in a theme:

% cat recordings-ui.xml
...
         <progressbar name="usedbar" from="baseprogressbar">
             <area>24,535,375,45</area>
         </progressbar>




gives me a bar in the specified position,
but it is always about 500x60 in size.

The one in base.xml is <area>0,0,10,10</area>,
so I can't see this as an inheritance thing.

Any suggestions before I start dissecting code?
