It's probably because sports is one thing you can't just watch the next
day, because you'll know how the game turned out. So sports is something
I typically watch while it's still recording, with only an hour or so

Like the ones from my HD Homerun? No. But then I hardly ever record
anything off the HDHomerun during the summer. Once football season
cranks up, I'll record more from the broadcast networks that are
available to my HDHomerun and I'll be able to be more sure about that.
I can say that I have not seen this at all with the SD recordings coming
off the PVR-500 (which are also MPEG but I display everything using
VDPAU) and there are a lot of things I have recorded that way.

I am happy (for me, not for you )-: that finally someone else has
acknowledged seeing this problem. I have mentioned it a few times on the
users list and gotten zero response, so I was beginning to think there
was just something mysteriously wrong with my system. I first noticed it
during the Stanley Cup playoffs last spring, when I first started
running trunk and using an HD-PVR, so it's been with me from the very
