Here's my take on this:

Right now I'm cleaning up my original patch and re-working it to grab
frames more efficiently.

When that's done, I'll take a crack at getting it to work with trunk
as-is (i.e. without any UI changes). I'm hoping it will be fairly easy
with minimal thought involved (mostly QT3 -> QT4 stuff?). It would be
nice to see how this works for other people before digging into the UI.

After that, we can look at converting it to use MythUI (Thanks for
offering to help, Stuart)

Caveat: My primary environment is 0.21-fixes. I can work with trunk but
I don't do it often and probably won't upgrade until 0.22 is released.
I don't see a problem doing the basic update to trunk, but the UI stuff
is another story and I'll definitely need help with it. (or even someone
to do it). I don't want to leave it half-done, but not running trunk
makes it difficult on the UI side for me.

Stuart, if you have any concrete ideas on widgets or other stuff to use
for MythUI, I'd be glad to hear them. The basic UI logic I created just
kind of happened as I developed the rest of the functionality, so I'm
not married to it in any way.

Unfortunately, I don't use IRC. Maybe I'll get off my butt and change
that sometime, but for now:

Does this sound reasonable?

If so can you unlock the ticket and I'll update my patches when they're
ready? Hopefully if people know I'm working on this they'll be able to
restrain themselves. In any case, do what you need to do.

Thanks,
Bill
