Because trunk is currently unusable for most and it seems at this
stage that 0.22 is a long way away.

As for playing politics, if you don't like nvidia drivers being closed
source, why bother adding VDPAU support in trunk in the first place.

fine that it's your opinion, but at least be consistent... (and BTW,
VDPAU itself isn't closed source and nvidia has invited other to
participate)

As to why I want VDPAU, it provides the best deinterlacer I've seen on
mythtv so far ; all the other ones suck in comparison unfortunately...
That's something myth always lagged behind even the cheapest media
player...

As to simply closing this ticket, well, I'll just say that you
obviously think your decisions and thoughts are better than anyone
else around here... You're not giving the opensource community a very
good image.

So you close this ticket fine, but at least don't lock it, let it run
its course ... if many people think like you, it will die by itself...
