[mythtv] TeVii S650 S2 usb

Dear list, 

I am having some trouble using my new TeVii S650 S2 device with mythtv.
I am running 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP 32bit on an athlon x2 64
bit machine and the svn Last Changed Rev: 20293.

Reading the list for similar issues, there was quite a bit of discussion
that seemed to close in Feb. this year. Do I need any patches to run
this or does this represent a new issue?

The device works fine with with mplayer but I can not set up the lnb
under the DiSEqC options in myth-setup and mythbackend reports the
following error on start-up:

                        and we failed to find any suitible channels on
any input.

The usb S2 device seems to be installed ok using the latest firmware for
linux from the TeVii web-site, renamed to dvb-usb-dw2104.fw using the
standard v4l shipped with this kernel:
