[mythtv] exiting mythrontend doesn't

this is new behaviour

not sure exactly how long - i went away and came back several hours 
later and it was chugging away
noticed because my laptop fan was  making quite a racket

laptop is a 2GHz centrino (single core) with 1G ram
backend is an AMD 64x2 6000
