AC3/DTS passthru seems to be broken for me here.  Standard audio over
spdif works fine but I just get brief flutters of audio with AC3
passthrough enabled (the amp loses the signal).

I've tried everything mentioned on these lists and some other
combinations of buffer sizes.  Nothing seems to work.
