Hi Jelle ;-)
are you running trunk or 0.21.fixes. IIRC in 0.21.fixes, mythtv-setup 
has a bug related to multithreading that is corrected in trunk. The 
workaround is to invoke mythtv-setup this way (on the top of my head, 
hope this is exact)
sudo taskset -c 0 mythtv-setup
