may I suggest trying out any/some of the following (in no particular order)?
remuco - http://remuco.sf.net "Remuco is a duplex remote control
system for Linux media players and mobile devices equipped with
Bluetooth or WiFi. "
Xbtrc - http://www.vf.utwente.nl/~dijkhw/index.php/Katlijk/Xbtrc
"Remote Control application for X11 over BlueTooth "
Bluemote - http://www.geocities.com/saravkrish/progs/bluemote/ "T610
(or compatible Sony Ericsson phones) as a remote for your Linux PC."
BluePad - http://www.valeriovalerio.org/bluepad/ "BluePad turns your
cell phone into a remote bluetooth controller"
If you can get any of them talking the LIRC protocol, then you can go
bluetooth->[someapp]->lirc->mythtv and not have to map directly to X11
key events or stuffing virtual keyboard keystrokes.
Buzz.
